MRZIM

MRZIM - Youth Develops Youth and Community is an annual program of youth capacity building in the under-developed regions according to the methodology of the British Foundation Allavida. It is the one-year course on project management, community development, where participants learn how they can realize projects in their communities. The course implies small grants (2,400 KM per project) and they truly realize their projects. In 2003 34 participants (17 groups) from the North-west BiH completed the training successfully. In 2004 18 groups from Herzegovina and South-East Bosnia participate in the program.

OIA was licensed in 2002 and gained a financial help from the British Foundation Allavida, to realize the two year long project of youth capacity building in undeveloped regions (MRZIM – Youth Develops Youth and Community) . It is a one year course about project management, community development and the students learn how to realize certain projects in their local communities. Course awards small grants (2.400 KM for each project, total of 40.000KM) and they truly realize those projects. First cycle began in November 2002 in North West BiH. Through 4 modules, 34 students (17 groups) successfully completed this training in September 2003. It is important to mention that beside the education of 34 people, the effect of this program is also the realization of mini projects, as well as multiply effect on other members of organizations that these people come from. With management changes (new coordinator and external trainers), and ending the partnership with UNV, OIA and Allavida started the second cycle in the end of 2003 in the region of Herzegovina and South-East Bosnia . Some 40 people applied, and 20 were selected by a special Counseling Board of the program. They will go through 4 training modules and will implement their projects by October 2004.
