MRZIM Module 5 – About youth policy and cooperation with the local authorities, Fojnica (April 1st- 3rd)

OIA BIH in cooperation with the British foundation Allavida implemented two cycles of the Youth develops the community and youth (MRZIM) program from October 2002 to December 2004. MRZIM was a one-year training program with an objective of capacity building of NGOs and informal youth initiatives in undeveloped regions of BiH so they could directly influence the needs of youth in the community. During the first year of the program 16 groups from north-western and northern Bosnia ware educated, and during 2004 18 more organizations and groups from Herzegovina and South-Eastern Bosnia. The MRZIM program provided the participants with 4 training modules so they could implement their mini projects in the local communities supported by the grants of 2.400 KM per project. After two successively finished cycles with 34 groups and organizations, the evaluation of the MRZIM program showed the need for an additional empowerment of groups in the field of lobbying and youth policy. OIA BiH and Allavida decided to organize an additional MODULE 5 training in the first quarter of 2005 for 30 participants, 17 interested groups and organizations that completed the MRZIM program. The MODULE 5 was held in Fojnica on April 1 st -3 rd and the following subject were discussed: the Introduction to youth policy, Youth policy at the municipal level, Models of youth participation in decision making, Lobbying techniques, Creative lobbying, Presentation skills and the Creation of the local action plan of lobbying.
