ŠOP: The results of the project Active youth for the first semester (1 July)

In the framework of the School of Youth Policy, in 2005 OIA has conducted realization of 90-minute workshops 'Active youth' in high schools. The goal of the workshop is to inform the young people and make them aware of the significance of them being more involved in society issues, to educate the high school students about the concept of youth defining as well the position of the young people and the ways in which they can participate more actively in the society. In 2005 OIA educated 40 peer educators, that is young persons who were specially trained for the realization of this workshop and detailed monitoring of their work was conducted as well.
In the second month a preparatory training for peer educators was held, and from April till June OIA has organized total of
128 workshops, in the following regions: Bihać 25, Banja Luka 12, Mostar 16, Sarajevo 25, Zenica 25 and Zvornik 25 workshops.
The workshops were attended by
2738 high school students
from
62 schools in
15 different cities.
These activities are supported by the International Centre Olof Palme and Open Society Fund–Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the autumn the workshops activities will be resumed, just as the meetings of the young with the local authorities.
