Over 200 ‘Active Youth’ workshops organized in high schools in this year (October)

During the autumn OIA continued the realization of the ‘Active Youth’ workshops which had for a goal informing of high school students in Bosnia and Herzegovina about the ways in which they can be active in society, what is necessary for that and who is responsible for the position of youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as what that position is like, etc. The workshops were conducted by 40 peer educators of OIA in 6 regions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Sarajevo from 22 till 24 October a meeting of representatives of peer educators and OIA staff was organized and at this meeting the current development of the project was reviewed and a short evaluation was performed. A special part of the meeting was related to the preparation of the next step, that is organization of 30 workshops for the most motivated high school students who participated in an Active Youth workshop in this year. During the modelling of the workshop, a guidebook was prepared for peer educators as well as a plan of action for the realization of the before mentioned 30 workshops before the end of 2005.

The work of peer educators and the workshop Active Youth is part of the follow-up program of School of Youth Policy, supported by International Centre Olof Palme and Open Society Fund–Bosnia and Herzegovina.
